What you'll do
Develop and maintain quality energy insights, operational, analytical and reporting functions to support day to day energy management of the Telstra business for the purpose of improving energy efficiency, reducing energy costs, building increased energy monitoring and information capability and supporting operational and asset management teams to prioritise and deliver on emissions and energy reduction agendas

  • In this role, the Energy Data Analyst will have accountability for building a comprehensive library of energy and asset related data sets and analytical tools aimed at better understanding how Telstra utilises energy at a site level and supporting decision making on network tariff application, demand reduction and investment prioritisation.

    Key Responsibilities
    Responsible for creating superior energy analytics functionality to enable Telstra to better understand its energy consumption and target cost and emissions reduction initiatives.

    Leadership
    • Thought leadership on energy analytics and insights capability to enable benchmark energy utilisation performance by Telstra long term and identify short term priorities.
    • Engage with stakeholders across Telstra to capture and model key energy and asset data for the purpose of reducing unnecessary cost.
    • Continue to develop tariff optimisation functionality to ensure the correct network tariffs are identified at a site level by utilising available interval meter data.
    • Challenge how Telstra utilises energy data to create powerful insights and guide business action and investment
    • Assist in shaping key messaging to senior management on the energy agenda.

    Key Accountability Metrics
    • Delivery of sophisticated energy data modelling capability
    • Identification of energy, cost and emissions reduction opportunity
    • Ingestion of key external data sets to support evaluation and decision making
    • Provide key data sets to support the energy procurement function to achieve lowest cost energy solutions.
    What you need to succeed
    To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:-

    Essential
    • Bachelor’s Degree in business / commerce / economics / engineering / accounting
    • Demonstrable experience in an energy operations team, with analytical and quantitative expertise
    • Ability to clearly present complex analytics into clearly articulated outcomes and recommendations
    • Attention to detail, operating with capacity to operate autonomously with subject matter expertise.
    • Self motivated, driven, well organized and efficient, able to report accurately and meet deadlines
